Yay this is my 1st ever mesh conversion to sims 2!! I originally converted this to sims 4 because I wanted to have a time appropriate object to write and publish books with in my medieval gameplay and then I realized a printing press would be a good choice since it enabled the mass printing of books (and was invented in the late middle-ages).
Then because I had never done mesh conversions for Sims 2 I thought this would be the optimal thing to try and do since I don't thinks there's objects similar to this for Sims 2. And of course I had use of it in sims 2 as well. So here it is!

The printing press consists of 3 objects: 1) Printing Press Desk, 2) Letter plate that is placed on top of it and it's the computer with which to write novels and 3) a chair. So this way, with the same textures for the bench and the desk, the whole thing will look like one object.
Mesh details:
  • This download adds 3 new meshes & objects into your game:
    • 1) Desk: Created by: Stroti who first made it for Oblivion / Converted to Sims 2 by me.
      • Polygons: 3353
    • 2) Chair: Converted from Sims 4 to Sims 2 by me.
      • Polygons: 120
    • 3) Computer:  Created by: Stroti who first made it for Oblivion / Converted to Sims 2 by me.
      • Polygons: 220
Texture details:
  • Textures made by me by using extracted Sims Medieval  textures
  • Textures included for the desk and chair:
    • Plank wood texture with 5 recolors
    • Solid wood texture with 5 recolors
Textures for the letter plate computer:
- iron texture with simlish text

Prices in game and where to find the objects:
  • Printing Press Desk (found in desks): 500 Simoleons
  • Computer  (found in electronics): 1000 Simoleons
  • Chair (found in chairs): 80 Simoleons
I made the prices as high as they are for modern computers because it would've been expensive to own this and publish books in the late medieval times.

Here's Stroti's original one: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/36064/?
TOU: Feel free to recolor. You can include the meshes but give me credit for the conversion please!

This is the girls’ version of this celtic dress I made awhile ago for teens and women. This and the adult version wouldn’t exist without iamliz14 whose medieval sims 2 gowns are beyond this world and whose textures I used for this dress.
Details:
  • 7 Recolors
  • You need the mesh by Kiara Zurk (from here)
  • Texture resources:
    • Sims 4 base-game top for the sleeves
    • iamliz14’s textures for the dress part
wiccandove at tumblr also made a version of the adult’s celtic dress and you can find it here.

So this is my solution to replace the modern computer with a time appropriate object for the Medieval & Renaissance stage of my history challenge. It’s also great for storytelling if you want to have the invention and use of the printing press be an event in your historical challenges, legacies etc.
The mesh of the desk is property of Stroti at nexus mod’s who first made it for Oblivion. So all the credit goes to them. The chair was made by me from a sims 4 base game table. The textures were also made by me using extracted textures from Sims Medieval.
Also I want to thank @srslysims whose spinning wheel computer replacementwas an inspiration for this.
Set includes:
  • A Desk (Based on an ordinary base game work desk)
  • A Letter Plate (is the computer) with simlish text!
  • A Chair
  • 5 textures & colors for the desk and chair
How to put the printing press together:
  1. Place the desk on the ground using “bb.moveobjects” cheat (for some reason it can’t be placed without it)
  2. Place the letter plate (found in electronics) onto the desk (it fits right into between the metal bars
  3. Place the chair in front of the desk

Awhile back I had the idea to try and see If I could recreate some famous films' posters with sims 4 and I ended up making 13 of them. And since these kinds of simlish posters have been made for the sims games before by both EA and players, I decided to convert mine for the sims to have in the game as paintings as well.

Also I want to thank femmeonamission at tumblr whose “Great art Series” worked as inspiration for me to do these in the first place.
Includes:
  • 2 Versions (Framed & unframed)
    • the frames have 3 color options: Black, Gold & Silver (and each will appear as its different object)
  • 3 Sizes for both versions: Small, Medium, Large
  • 13 Canvases (film posters) for every style and size painting
  • So in total this will add 12 files / objects into your game
Films featured (Click on the names and you’ll see the comparisons between the original posters and my simlish remakes.) :

TOU: I’ve made the images myself so if you wish to use them for your own projects and share them please notify me first. Either here or on tumblr at: http://historicalsimslife.tumblr.com/
